After a while thinking and planning for your tattoo, now you finally got one. Your long tattoo session is over and you're left with a new tattoo to take care for. Don't you worry, taking care of a new tattoo is very easy - easier than planning.

Apply antiseptic ointment often. Antiseptic ointment well help your new tattoo to be free from infections. Ask the tattoo studio for a brand they can recommend, or you can ask from the drugstore. Apply it gentle on the tattooed skin as often as it dries out.



Many tattoo artist apply antiseptic on the tattoo as he create it - which is a good thing as their hands may come in contact with dirt in the process. He will also put a piece of tissue or cellophane after applying the antiseptic once your tattoo is finished. If you're going elsewhere after your session, better leave the covering in place to avoid contamination.







 Always keep it dry. Your tattoo will heal more rapidly if you always keep it dry. When you arrive home, don't go right to the shower. If you can't control yourself, take all precautions not to wet the tattooed area.


If your tattooed skin discharges liquid, wipe it gentle with a clean soft cloth or tissue then apply antiseptic again.










Keep your hands clean. Before touching your tattoo, always make sure your hands are clean. Oftentimes, unclean hands is a good source dirt and microbes. A good amount of hand sanitizer will do the trick.

Apply moisturizer. After 5-6 days, you can now discontinue using the antiseptic and use moisturizer for a few days. If your skin is sensitive, use the unscented brand. Moisturizer will keep your skin moist and your tattoo healthy.




Most tattoo leave scab in some areas and can be itchy. Don't try to pick or scratch it as it might damage the design. Leave it alone until it fall on itself.
